This collection of illustrations is a commemoration and a big thanks to suffragettes, who fought hard so we can vote, and to all the brave women who fight for women’s rights today. Men saw suffragettes as cats that scream for the vote, which they will never get because it’s not their right to set foot in men’s political sphere. Anti-suffragists organisations often used cartoons with cats to show women as passive, simple and delicate. But because Suffragettes were masters in turning around bad propaganda, they were not discouraged by the attempt at slander but chose the cat as their mascot.
