Eggsperience

As a child I was drawing all the time. I wanted to be an illustrator and animator, but my parents didn't allow me to study at an art school. For them drawing was just a hobby. Later on I started to write poetry and became a published and awarded writer. I was studing languages and worked for some time at the publishing house in London.

After I finished my MA studies I moved from Slovak Republic to Prague in Czech Republic, where I became a copywriter and creative director. One day I borrowed my friends camera and fell in love with photography. I started to specialize in documentary and street photography. I was successful and made a living from creating ideas, writing and shooting, but I was missing something.

After 18 years of working as a freelance copywriter, art director, creative director and photographer, I decided to fulfill my childhood dream and make myself happy. I started to draw eggen and became an illustrator.

I wrote four books (Dni na dlani, Medziriadky, Život pod psa and illustrated animated e-book How Minimilian put himself together) and published in many antologies. My writings recieved several awards (e.g. my first book was awarded as Debut of the Year), were published in Slovak and Czech and international magazines, book collections and radios, and translated to other languages.

My creative ideas were awarded in international advertising competitions (e.g. Young Lions Cannes or Golden Award for Outstanding creativity at The Mobius Awards in Los Angeles, USA) and published in Shots, Lürzers Archive, ADC Best of European Design and Advertising 2006. Among my clients belonged e.g. Google, Microsoft, Škoda, McDonalds, Nikon, MasterCard or RedBull.

I was awarded for street and documentary photography (e.g. 2nd place in worldwide contest Professional Photographer of the Year 2012). My photos were published e.g. in Leica Fotografie International magazine, National Geographic or on the cover of American Theatre magazine. I had exhibitions in the UK, USA and France. Among my clients belonged Sydney Opera House or KODAK. My work became a part of Bibliothèque Nationale de France collection. Find more at luciaeggenhoffer.com

Message in a baby bottle

I'm happy when my creations make people smile or bring them joy, but I'm happiest when they can help. I wrote this TV spot scenario for Tereza Maxova Foundation for Abandoned Kids. Music was given us for free by Emiliana Torrini.
